If you are planning to visit Calvary, we hope this page will give you an idea of what to expect. We are a small church, and our aim is not to put on a performance, but to worship God reverently, hear His Word, and welcome visitors without putting them on the spot.

What To Expect

Our Lord’s Day service is simple and reverent. We sing, pray, read Scripture, and hear the preaching of God’s Word. You do not need to know the routine ahead of time, and you will not be singled out or put on the spot.

Each Sunday we also celebrate the Lord’s Table (communion) together. All baptized believers in Christ are welcome to partake with us. If you are unsure whether you should participate, speak with one of our elders, or simply stay in your seat and watch this week, without any embarrassment.

You do not need to dress formally to visit Calvary. Most of our congregation wears modest business-casual clothing, though jeans are common and some women wear dresses. Children often come in shorts or sundresses, and the only person likely to be wearing a tie is the preacher.

Children in Worship

Children are welcome in our worship service! We value families worshiping together because children learn to worship by watching, listening, and gradually joining the prayers, songs, and preaching alongside their parents and the whole congregation.

It is normal for children to make some noise, wiggle, drop things, or need a quiet question answered. Those ordinary actions of childhood are not a problem; they are part of being a church family together. We even have crayons and coloring sheets available to help keep kids occupied.

If a child becomes upset or loudly disruptive, parents are free to step out, use the nursery/cry room, or walk in the back until the child settles. There is no embarrassment in this; training little ones is part of worshiping as families.

Our nursery room also serves as a cry room for parents who need a quieter space with an infant or a restless child. You can still hear the service from there, and trained volunteers are available when needed.  Using the nursery is entirely optional; parents are equally welcome to keep their children with them in the service or make use of the nursery as they find helpful.

When You Arrive

When you arrive, you’ll see clearly marked visitor parking spaces close to the building. Come in through the main doors— they open into a small foyer right outside the sanctuary. You can pick up a bulletin and find a seat; we’re a small congregation, and there is usually plenty of room. If something is already happening in the sanctuary when you arrive, whether Sunday School or the worship service, please just come on in and join us.
